Suzanne has been a Montessori teacher since 1985 and most of that time has been at Creative Montessori School.
I am a wife and the mother of three grown daughters and the grandmother of three sweet boys and two darling girls. I come from a large family so it has always felt natural to be with young children.
I was first introduced to the Montessori method many years ago when I was looking for a preschool for my youngest daughter. I enrolled her at Creative Montessori School because of a friend’s recommendation. I began noticing how much she was learning, including learning to read. The night that she counted to thirty in French really got my attention! I was selling computer software at that time and not finding it very fulfilling. I asked the Director of the school if I could come to work for her. She said that I would have to get my Montessori certification and quickly put me in touch with a training program. I completed the two-year certification process and have been teaching ever since.
I know that it is a privilege and an honor to be able to guide and nurture the children in my care. The longer I have been teaching, the more I am convinced that it is a wonderful and superior method of educating the whole child. I know that our children will learn and get what they need from our meticulously prepared environment because I see it every day. I love working at this school because I know that the entire staff is dedicated to the well-being of the children we serve as well as to their families.
In addition to co-teaching the morning class, I also perform administrative duties at Creative Montessori.
In my spare time I love to cook, read, hike, garden, RV camp, make Montessori materials, go to car shows, and play with my grandkids.
