Play with our many toys, dress-up, puppetry, etc. and Montessori work—child’s choice.


In a fully equipped Montessori environment designed to meet both the learning and social needs of children ages 2 1/2 to 6, each child chooses activities of specific interest to him/her.

Areas of the classroom include Practical Life, Art, Sensorial, Math, Language, Geography/Botany, and Special Units of Study. Through the activities in these areas, the child grows in self-confidence, self-esteem, as well as intellectually. Each child moves at his/her own pace and develops self-responsibility and care for others. Learning, in this atmosphere, is exciting, engrossing and joyous.

Each morning includes 2 1/2 hours of individual choice of activity and 20 to 30 minutes of group activity. This includes foreign language, creative dramatics, story telling, music and movement, science study, and show and tell.

Play outdoors in our beautifully equipped play areas.



Montessori work is put away, nappers are awakened, and the children gather for a short circle time before “second lunch”, a time to finish any uneaten lunch food.



A variety of activities are offered in the areas of arts and crafts, dress up, dolls, floor puzzles, toys of all sorts, tricycles and scooters, outside games with balls, outside chalking, and water “painting”, etc.


Children have a light snack, play with board games, puzzles, and other toys, listen to stories, or do quiet reading.
